One of Betye Saar's 2 artist daughters, Lezley Saar is a figurative artist who incorporates issues of identity and race within works of portraiture and body art. Her multi-media works frequently incorporate assemblage, sculpture and works on paper. In 1999, she had a solo exhibition at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas City, MO, and has work included in many museum exhibitions internationally.
