"Liberty." The Image and Superscription on Every Coin Issued by the United

States of America. Engraved title, map, half-page illustrations. 8vo, publisher's pictorial wrappers; scattered foxing. [New York?], 1837 FIRST EDITION. Compilation of anti-slavery sentiment, but not to be confused with The Liberty Bell which began publication 2 years later. The volume contains some brief slave narratives and a section of anecdotes. This volume is unknown to Work, Hampton, and Sabin. Blockson Collection 9639 lists an identical title published a year later, with Julius Reuben Ames as compiler. But that volume is only half the size of this and bears a standard imprint.
