Resolved... to be erected and fitted up for the reception of the library of Congress a suitable building [caption titles]. Together, 2 pamphlets. Each 8vo, disbound; offsetting; ex-library, with an ink stamp on the first leaves. [Washington], 1817
- Notes: The first, dated 6 January 1817, contains a list of numerous books purchased for the Library of Congress, detailing the titles, the booksellers and the individual prices; the second; dated 18 February 1817, is a resolution to build a separate building for the Library of Congress. The original library, destroyed by the British in 1814, was replaced by the purchase of Jefferson's library in 1815 and augmented with new purchases by Congress. This 1817 resolution to build a separate building for the library eventually failed, however a new proposal passed a year later.
