Written on verso of a letter to Lincoln from the "Many Citizens of Loyalty," in Hickman, Kentucky, who are requesting that a permanent military post be established in their town to stop Confederate attacks and plunderers. With a lengthy Autograph Endorsement Signed by Brigadier General S. Meredith on verso advocating such a post. In all, 4 pages, folded 4to sheet; staining at the top of the first page.
