  • Notes: The Brady photograph is the famous profile portrait taken on 9 February 1864; it was used as the model for the penny. It bears inked initials in the image area, the manuscript caption "Lincoln" on the mount, and Brady's 352 Pennsylvania Avenue backstamp. Another was produced by Gurney & Son of New York, one is captioned "Abraham Lincoln" without a backstamp, the fourth is of a cartoon titled "Uncle Abe's Last Joke," and the last is of a print depicting the first sixteen presidents.
