Stitched, detached from original calf wrapper; wrapper slightly torn, contents in strong condition. [Madison and Tensas Parishes, LA], 1849-50
- Notes: Haller Nutt (1816-1864) owned several plantations along the Louisiana-Mississippi border. He is best known today for Longwood, the octagonal mansion in Natchez he began building just before the Civil War; the half-completed shell is now a National Historic Landmark. This volume consists of a series of memoranda relating to Nutt''s plantations in northeastern Louisiana (Araby and Winter Quarters), including notes on his hoggery, real estate, and slaves.
