MACCABIAH. 1932
First held in 1932 in Tel Aviv, the Maccabi Games, similar to the Olympics, featured thirteen countries and over three hundred athletes. It was intended to foster physical education, belief in Jewish heritage and a Jewish nation. Today it is a quadrennial event with thousands of participants.
