Notes: maillol''s final illustrated book. He began working on the project in 1908 but, owing to numerous interruptions, the woodblocks were not completed until 1944, shortly before the artist''s death. Although originally intended as a joint project with Count Kessler, it was published posthumously by Gonin, the publisher of most of Maillol''s books. The Artist and the Book 175.
