Np, nd ca 1964 E1500-2500 Top of the page is indicated as "Mx Extra-3 This means that this was an addition or correction of a previously written page of text. It was Haley's habit to send a copy of a chapter or portion to Malcolm X for his approval as it was written. Haley's manuscripts usually went through as many as 5 or 6 drafts. With this, Malcolm Xs Autobiography and Haley's actual first book, there were numerous changes made, the present page being one of them. Following a Playboy Magazine interview with Malcolm X, the two became close and thus the idea for the Autobiography was born. See Illustration
