  • Notes: from the estate of gladys and maxfield vogel, personal friends of the artist. Man Ray's inscription reads, "For Gladys and Maxfield, Man Ray 1965." Gladys Vogel befriended Juliet Man Ray when both were students at the Art Students League from 1932-36. The couples remained close and Man Ray gave this album the Vogels in 1965, apparently after a visit to their home. It has been in the collection of the Vogel family since then.
