Vellum leaf from an illuminated manuscript of the Vulgate with historiated initial on recto depicting Obadiah and another on verso showing Jonah being swallowed by the whale, text of Amos 9:6-Jonah 3:1 written in tiny gothic hand in black ink, 52 lines, double columns, with headings and initial strokes in red. Chapter initials alternately in red and blue with contrasting penwork decoration. Leaf 145x104 mm, initials 17x17 mm (Obadiah) and 18x18 mm (Jonah); 2 small stains in blank outer margin. Paris, circa 1250
