Octavo format manuscript on parchment, five gatherings of ten leaves, one gathering of six leaves, ie., A-E10, F6; all sewing threads visible at the centers of gatherings, catchwords still visible on versos of final leaves of each signature; first song, "Pueri Hebraeorum," with large decorated display initial in red; musical notation on a four-bar staff throughout, with short sections of occasional text interspersed, six lines of music and text per page; gothic letter in black and red ink, ruled in ink; some fore-edge prick marks visible; bound in full contemporary alum-tawed pigskin over wooden boards by Johannes Hagmayer, active in Ulm, circa 1470 to 1487, incorporating eight tools identified through Einbanddatenbank (see below), including flowers, rosette, palmette, rooster, eagle, and owl, with single brass clasp and catch on fore-edge; two contemporary inscriptions inside the front board and on ffep connecting the manuscript to the Dominican Klosterkirche Maria Medingen, in Mödingen, Bavaria; the binding in an excellent state of preservation, with no visible repairs, original endbands still present, blank paper pastedowns, one hole in front board, some minor worming to pastedowns, 7 x 4 3/4 in.

A long note by Johannes Dillingen, dated 1478, states that he has corrected this "libellus" as best he can, and that no one should make any further modifications unless he has been a chanter in the church for more than six years. The flyleaf bears the ownership inscription of Dominican sisters of Maria Medingen.
