We know almost nothing about Marc Libbrecht except that he gave a lecture in Gent in 1932 about the history of the poster and that he designed this poster to advertise the event. It is a good Art Deco image with strong symbols eye, pen, pencil, brain well-organized to arrest the eye. The information is cleverly grouped in sans serif typography along the bottom of the poster, allowing the word "L'Affiche" to stand out.
