Group of internal memos, telegrams and file copies of letters to Marilyn concerning her refusal to report for the final stills for Seven Year Itch (1955) and the start of production for How to Be Very Very Popular (1955). January 1955.
Includes four internal memos, mostly from Billy Gordon, regarding his attempts to get in contact with Marilyn and recounting conversations with her, four Western Union telegrams either to or from Marilyn, two typed letters from the studio to Marilyn ordering her to report to the studio and with monroe's copy of one of the letters in an unopened envelope stamped Return to Sender.
In the end, Monroe would refuse to comply with the studio's demands and would be suspended. Her actions, however, would lead to her time at the Actor's Studio and eventually to a new contract with Twentieth Century Fox.
