A tableau of festive images portraying the second largest city in the Caribbean in all its pre-Castro glory. The image features the city's skyline glowing under a fireworks display and two Cubans dancing into the night. Cuba has rivaled New York as the most popular musical capital of the Western hemisphere for nearly 100 years. Exporting dances like the Rhumba and the Mambo, Cuban music pushed out the Fox Trot and competed with U. S. jazz bands for popularity.
