[8], 528, [21] (of [24]) pages; lacks last (blank?) leaf. 4to, 18th-century calf gilt, worn overall, portions missing from top and bottom spine compartments, joints cracked, cords intact, cover corners worn through; occasional marginal dampstaining, most noticeably on opening leaves with traces of mold, first and last several leaves torn in blank lower margins and restored.   • Notes: first edition of a gynecological treatise by the physician to Kings Philip II and III of Spain. Friedenwald I, 327-31; Palau 165004; this edition not in Durling or Wellcome. With the ownership inscription of Francois Rasse des Noeux (d. 1581), physician to Catherine de Medicis, on the title (faded and slightly affected by tear).
