(MEXICAN IMPRINTS--1782.) Mayorga, Martín de. Ordenanza de la division de la nobilisima ciudad de Mexico en quarteles, creacion de los alcaldes de ellos, y reglas de su govierno, bound with 11 other ordinances (one in manuscript), and a manuscript table of contents, dated 1724-1806. Hand-colored folding map of Mexico City. [2], 41, [1] pages. Folio, later mottled calf, minor wear; map cropped with loss of perhaps half an inch on bottom edge; various ownership markings of noted collectors José Fernando Ramírez and José María Andrade, a 1937 Oklahoma collector, and a defunct Oklahoma college.   • Notes: first edition. The map was done by Manuel Villavicencio, and is titled "La nobilisima Ciudad de Mexico dividida en quarteles." A key is provided on the facing page. Medina, Mexico 7346; Palau 203062; Sabin 47199.
    Bound with the ordinance are 10 other printed Mexican ordinances relating to the administration of Mexico City. Highlights include: "Ordenanzas para la Real Casa de Moneda de Mexico" (1724) * "Ordenanazas de el nobilissimo arte de la plateria" (1746) * "Ordenanzas del juzgado general privativo de bebidas prohibidas" (1782) * and an untitled 15-page compilation of ordinances relating to pulquerias dated 25 January 1793 (Medina, Mexico 8200). The volume concludes with a 69-page manuscript titled "Ordenanzas de la Real Loteria de Nueva Espana" (1791). A complete list is available upon request.
