- Notes: The author was the widow of Miguel Miramón, who had served as President of Mexico in 1859 and 1860, and then as the top general during Maximilian's short reign as Emperor of Mexico. These letters, written in Italian, offer inside information on Maximilian's reign and the execution of her husband alongside Maximilian in 1867. with--an unrelated Autograph Letter Signed from Concepción Lombardo de Miramón to an unidentified recipient, in French, Brussels, 18 July 1868.
