(MEXICO.) Philip IV, King of Spain. Letter to the Bishop of Guadalajara, concerning the disposition of the goods of "los Indios." One legal-sized page; dampstaining and slight separations along folds, small ink hole affecting one word. Madrid, 20 June 1628
- Notes: Letter Signed as "Yo el Rey" (possibly secretarial). It begins "Porquanto he sido ynformado que hordinariamente mueren todos los Indios sin hacer testamento"--or, "I have been informed that ordinarily the Indians die without leaving a will." The bishop at that time was Francisco de Rivera y Pareja.
