In the middle of the 1890s, many artists who were watching the run-a-way success that Mucha and Grasset were having with their decorative panels, decided to try their hand n the same field. For this graceful panel Misti captures all of the graphic elements that appear to be the key to success; a beautiful woman amidst flowers and decorative ornamentation. However, in adhering too closely to an "ideal," Misti's elegant and decorative image doesn't carry his visual personality and style, and was not commercially successful (judging by the rarity if the piece). By contemporary standards, however, it is truly a charming Art Nouveau panel.
