Paris, 1843 FIRST EDITION IN ENGLISH of a wide-ranging work on comparative religion composed in India in the mid-17th-century, elaborating the tenets of Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Zoroastrianism, Hinduism, and Tibetan Buddhism. The author apparently received his information on Judaism at first hand from Muhammad Sa'id Sarmad (d. 1661) a Jewish convert to Islam who migrated to India from Persia and became a Sufi dervish and poet.
