  • Notes: Samuel Coleridge-Taylor (1875-1912), Anglo-African composer, wrote a great deal of vocal and orchestral music, much of it performed in Great Britain, but also popular in the United States. He collaborated with Paul Lawrence Dunbar on several songs and toured America in 1904. "Hiawatha" is his best-known work.
