(MUSLIM CALENDAR.) Vellum manuscript calendar for the years 1200-85 A.H. (i.e., 1785-1869 A.D.) consisting of tables within gold rules
with headings in gold on blue ground, flanked by commentary written in naskh script, with illuminated heading in gold and colors incorporating characteristic Ottoman floral motifs. Scroll, 1010 x 90 mm, with leather flap at top and ivory spindle at bottom; 2-piece box. compiled and written by Muhammad Amin al-Bokhali(?) Scrolls of this type were commonly used in Ottoman lands for calculating times of prayer, which depended on the length of the day.
