Never produced during his lifetime, Nabbes's Unfortunate Mother is a dire tragic tale, involving the death of the majority of its characters, and a plethora of dramatic devices. In it we see characters assuming secret identities, poisoning, dueling, murdering, not to mention general deception and social maneuvering at court. The stage debut of the play took place in the fall of 2013 at St. Giles in the Fields, the church where Nabbes is buried.
