NASA Apollo 11 Mission Medallion. One of the limited production 2.5-inch diameter stainless steel Apollo - NASA Lunar Landing July 1969 medallions made from the die carried to the Moon and back on the flight of Apollo 11. With a Typed Letter Signed by Christopher Kraft to Gen. Thomas Stafford thanking him for his role in Apollo and describing the medallion. NASA, 1970
- Notes: The 30 July 1970 NASA/JSC letter reads in part: "Dear Tom, On the Apollo 11 mission a special die was flown for later use in fabricating a commemorative medallion to be distributed to those individuals who made a significant contribution to the success of the Apollo Program. Please accept the enclosed medallion in recognition of the major role you played in achieving this national goal."
