This rare and notorious guide to the New Orleans's houses of ill repute was published annually from 1895 to 1917. Prostitutes, with their addresses and phone numbers, are listed alphabetically by color, i.e. white, black and "octaroon." The ads include illustrations of Emma Johnson's "Studio" and "Oriental Danseuse Rita Walker." All issues of this guide are scarce, as many were secreted away or destroyed. Heartman, Blue Book XII.
