"NEW YORK CENTRAL BUILDING" Color lithographed poster by CHESLEY BONESTELL, circa 1930. 40.75 x 27 inches; repaired tears and crease in margins, corners and image. A dramatic evening scene of the New York Central Building, situated right above Grand Central Station, which is framed between the beams of two klieg lights and the venerable buildings along Park Avenue. Supposedly, when the railroad sold off this famous building, the new owners, in an attempt to save money on renaming the structure and changing all the signs, simply converted the name to the New York General Building, which entailed only the minor, inexpensive renovation of two letters. E2,500/3,500 [SEE COLOR PLATE VI]
