(NEW YORK CITY.) Murray & Paton. Correspondence copy book of a New York mercantile firm.
SUPPLYING NEW YORK WITH SCOTCH WHISKEY (NEW YORK CITY.) Murray & Paton. Correspondence copy book of a New York mercantile firm. 1 volume, 317 pages. 4to, 1/4 calf, portion of backstrip lacking, binding slightly loose. New York City, 1854-1856
- Notes: The partnership of Murray & Paton served as agents for cargo between New York and Glasgow, Scotland until their liquidation in 1856. The importation of whiskey from Scotland seems to have comprised a large portion of their business, but the letters also occasionally discuss shipments of turpentine, tar, and other undrinkables.
