Buckingham, "To Niagara, Written at the First Sight of its Falls, August 12th, 1838," 8 1/4 x 4 3/4 inches, undated * W. Fralick's illustrated tour advertisement, "General Scott Tower! Lundy's Lane," circa 8 1/4 x 6 1/2 inches laid down in mat, circa 1860s? * George W. Sims, "Ferry at the Falls!," 12 1/2 x 7 inches, May 1851 * F.H. Johnson & Son, "Cave of the Winds, American Side!", illustrated with three cuts, 14 1/4 x 8 1/4, laid down in mat, 1860.
    Five others are apparently unrecorded but date from a later period: Wright, "Cave of the Winds, Goat Island, State Reservation at Niagara," illustrated, 14 1/4 x 6 inches, circa 1880? * Welch, "State Reservation at Niagara, Ordinances," 14 1/2 x 9 inches, 1885? * "New Feature at Niagara: Clark Hill Islands," 9 x 6 inches, circa 1872? * "Guide to Whirlpool Rapids Park, Canada Side," 7 1/4 x 5 inches, circa 1880s * Thomas V. Welch, "Auction Sale," 11 x 8 inches, chipped, laid down, 27 January 1886.
    Only three of the broadsides in this lot have been traced: Wright, "Cave of the Winds, Goat Island, American Side" (laid down, imperfect); "The Steamer Maid of the Mist, Capt. John D. Hamlin," 13 1/2 x 5 inches, 1851; and P.S. Clark, "The Celebrated Burning Springs!", 7 3/4 x 5 inches, circa late 1870s. Provenance: from the collection of Niagara authority Karl Schmutzler.
