  • Notes: Cornelius Duel Mosher (1829-1890) was a physician in Albany, NY specializing in mental health, but perhaps best known as father of the pioneering women''s health advocate and sex researcher Clelia Mosher (1863-1940). Offered here are a large collection of his personal and business receipts, including paid bills from the Albany Female Academy for the tuition of his daughters, children''s clothing, and other family expenses; a 5 October 1876 bill from the Galvano-Faradic Manufacturing Company for a battery and electrodes, presumably used in some sort of electrical therapy; an 1876 subscription letter for the American Journal of Insanity; 2 invoices for expenses incurred on behalf of the New York State Lunatic Asylum in Utica in 1874; and much more.
