(NEWSPAPERS.) A pair of issues of the Saturday Globe with color cartoons on the immigration issue.

(NEWSPAPERS.) A pair of issues of the Saturday Globe with color cartoons on the immigration issue. Each 8 pages, 22 1/2 x 17 inches, on 2 folding sheets; minor wear. Utica, NY, 27 August 1904 and 18 April 1908

  • Notes: We expect the topic of immigration to remain timely through at least the presidential election. In the 1904 cartoon, an American laborer begs Uncle Sam to fix the wall at our nation's border, as hordes of dangerous-looking European immigrants climb through or over. In the second, Lady Columbia whips the "anarchist brood" from our shores, as they flee onto a ship back to Europe.
