Partial album chronicling the people of Calabar, a province in Nigeria, containing 16 ethnographic photographs and assorted ephemera, including photographs of funeral and marriage dancers, a Hausa woman, the free-born ladies of Calabar, the interior of Secendi, a tradesman's shop, native groups posing in front of thatched huts, Calabar's "fat girl," and more, plus 24 photomechanical postcards, and a newspaper clipping relating to the British colonial presence. Printing-out paper prints, each approximately 5 1/2x7 1/2 inches (14x19 cm.) and the reverse, with handwritten captions in Gujarati. Folio, lacks front and rear covers, 2 leaves detached, pages are chipped and worn. 1900-05
