The FDC, commemorating 25 years of transistors. Signed below his schematic diagram of a transistor, drawn in blank space at lower right. The cachet, showing the heads of Walter Brattain, William Shockley and John Bardeen. 8-cent "Progress in Electronics / Transistors" postage stamp, cancelled on the first day of issue, July 10, 1973 in New York City. Oblong 12mo, remnants of hinging at upper corners verso. The offprint, additionally inscribed, "To Mark Minguillon: / Thanks for your / interest in my physics contributions," article entitled, "William Shockley," by Shirley Thomas, reprinted in 1973[?] from Men in Space, vol. 4, 1962. Signed and inscribed on front cover above and below his schematic diagram of a transistor. 8vo, purple wrappers, staple binding.
