Bel Geddes began his career as a designer for the New York City Opera, but entered the world of industrial design in 1927. A pioneer in "Modernity" he designed the "Futurama 'Metropolis of Tomorrow' " pavillion for General Motors at the New York World's fair in 1939 as well as a host of other futuristic, modernistic and Art Deco objects and projects. This poster is signed with his distinctive monogram.
