NORTH GERMAN WITCH TRIAL DOCUMENTS (WITCH TRIAL.) Group of 6 documents relating to the case of Lorenz Nuppenou of Arnsfelde in Pomerania (now Gostomia in Poland), accused of witchcraft. manuscripts in german, written in black or brown ink on laid paper.   • Notes: The accused admitted having placing himself completely in the service of the Devil after an encountering him in the Lübeck woods. Nuppenou engaged in sexual improprieties and witchcraft with various local women, some of whom had the ability to transform themselves into werewolves and were later burned at the stake. Together with his female companions Nuppenou dispatched evil spirits to do their bidding, poisoned livestock, and bewitched people in the area, sickening though not killing them.
    Accompanied by English synopsis and 2 further documents from German witchcraft proceedings dated 1624 and 1677.
