first edition of o'connor's first book. The volume is accompanied by a copy of The Correspondence of Flannery O'Connor and the Brainard Cheneys, edited by C. Ralph Stephens, Jackson, MS, 1986. Brainard, the champion reviewer of Wise Blood, forged a close friendship with O'Connor. The book is inscribed by him and Stephens to their friend Marge Cooney, a concert pianist, whom they introduced to Flannery (and is mentioned by her on page 94 of the volume). Additionally signed by Cooney.
