Notes: "... I do remember your poems in the 'Answer,' which I read with great interest during the underground struggle for liberation. They were a source of encouragement to me and my brothers-in-arms. During the last several months we have lived to see great events of historic magnitude. Certainly, the fact that our contribution to these events has been neither last nor least, gives us all satisfaction that our struggle, even after the renewal of our independence in part of Eretz-Israel, was just and vindicated..."
The Six Day War began on 5 June 1967 with a preemptive air attack on Egyptian forces amassing in the Sinai. By 10 June, Israel had captured Jerusalem's Old City and the Golan Heights. This letter written than 3 months after the victory.
