Small 8vo, publisher's red levant morocco elaborately tooled in gilt in a floral motif with cream morocco onlays, by sangorski & sutcliffe, each cover with a different central emblematic design, spines beautifully gilt with floral pattern in 4 compartments, lettering in 2; gilt turn-ins with green watered silk doublures and liners, top edge gilt, others uncut; publisher's morocco gilt library case, still attractive, but scuffed and in need of a few repairs, including both clasps, which are broken.   • Notes: first edition of this stunning, specially bound set. Limited to 200 numbered copies on Japanese vellum, this set is one of only sixty sets bound by sangorski & sutcliffe in French Cape Levant for George M. Cassidy of New York and Signed by the editor, illustrator, publisher, printer, and binder. A special "Statutory Declaration" is bound into Volume 1 opposite the colophon stating that only 60 copies have been signed and bound in this style, and is Signed and dated by George Sutcliffe on 15 October 1914.
