A man on the left, holding a necklace, a woman on the right, holding a rose, both standing before rose bushes against a soft turquoise background, very likely created for one of fashion designer Paul Poiret's famous costume fêtes. 286x267 mm; 11 1/2x10 1/2 inches, image, Signed and dated by Barbier, in ink, lower left. Matted with division between the two figures and in a black wood frame, a little rubbed (unexamined out of frame). [Paris?], 1912
