  • Notes: A charming illustration by the creator of The Campbell Kids and Dolly Dingle. Drayton was one of the first commercially successful women cartoonists. She began her career drawing comics for the Philadelphia Press in her early 20s, created hundreds of drawings for the Campbell Company over a 30-year period, and launched a highly popular line of Dolly Dingle paper dolls from 1912-1933.
