Pen and brown ink and wash with white heightening on beige laid paper. 240x140 mm; 9 1/2x5 1/2 inches. Inscribed "Paolo Veroneso" in ink, lower center recto. Ex-collection Thomas Hudson (Lugt 2432, lower left recto).
The current work is a copy after a similar drawing by Veronese in the Chatsworth Collection. See Richard Cocke, "Veronese's Independent Chiaroscuro Drawings," Master Drawings, 1977, volume 15, number 3, plate 21.
