  • Notes: Charles Ellsworth served as a member of the town's Committee of Safety and commanded a company of militia which responded to the Lexington Alarm (although probably after the battle had already ended, as most Connecticut towns did not receive the news until April 20). After the Alarm, Ellsworth became Captain of the 8th Connecticut, a volunteer infantry regiment in the Continental Army.
