"The Three-Cornered Hat" (Spanish: "El sombrero de tres picos" or "Le tricorne") is a ballet from 1919, originally choreographed by Léonide Massine with music by Manuel de Falla. Set in Spain, the production incorporates elements of traditional Spanish dance, adapted and simplified, rather than classical ballet techniques. A notable 1949 production by the Paris Opera Ballet was choreographed by Espanita Cortez and directed by Jean-Jacques Etchevery, with curtain, set, and costume designs by Pedro Florès, produced by Maison Karinska and H. et A. Mathieu.
