PERFORMANCE CONTRACT SIGNED BY HOUDINI (HOUDINI, HARRY.) Printed performance contract with typed additions, Signed by Houdini. Official Signed contract between Houdini and Affiliated Lyceum & Chautauqua Assn., Inc., for 8 consecutive weeks of lectures on spiritualism, with the terms stated. One page, small folio; Signed by Houdini in full and with his initials to an addendum. Contract is mounted along the left edge into a manila folder of the same size. A promotional broadsheet for the lecture series is mounted to the front of the folder. Cleveland, 1924
- Notes: Houdini signs on for 8 weeks of lectures on spiritualism. He would receive $1500 weekly. The theatre group would pay for Mrs. Houdini's transportation and for the transportation of all props and baggage. Houdini reserved his right to sell his own promotional materials in the theatres. He also insisted that no advertising include the words "hocum" or "fakery" which he considered "too vulgar."
