[ Photographs ] (Aviation) Group of 16 early aviation photographs featuring a portrait of Wilbur Wright, taken at an airfield during his first visit to France in 1908 and another of his plane at the Belmont, L. I. or Boston 1910 meet, and 14 Curtiss Exhibition Company tographs, among them a shot of Glen Curtiss meeting Chief Iodine (a scout for Kit Carson) at the 1911 San Francisco Exhibition, several views of early hydroplanes, the Curtiss triplane in flight, 2 wonderful images of Curtiss' tracto hydroplane being raised onto the navy cruiser U. S. S. Pennsylvania, and more. Silver prints, each approximately 4.75 x 6.75 inches, the Wright portrait with the photographer's handstamp on verso, most of the Curtiss photographs numbered in the negative, 4 with the Apeda Studio hand stamp, one with the Curtiss stamp, and 5 with mimeographed caption labels affixed on verso. 1908-1912
