Pennsylvania, in San Francisco harbor, on January 18, 191 1, together with two photographs showing experiments with man-carrying kites. Silver prints, 4/4x 6.5inches, most captioned in the negative and 4 signed in the negative "E. Oswald. Photo." 1911 E1400-1800 Eugene B. Ely was a barnstormer, hired by Curtis, who, became the first person to land an airplane on a ship, two months after he had become the first person to successfully take off from a ship.
