[ Photographs ] ( Caribbean) Family album containing more than 550 photographs, comprising a series of approximately 210 Kodak #1 photographs of a trip to the Caribbean taken by Mr. and Mrs. Brown of Bellport, Long Island, and their daughters, with accomplished ethnographic and topographic snapshots of Demarra, St. Croix, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Grenada, Trinidad, St. Kitts, Barbados, Antigua, Tobago, and Montserrat; additional prints of the captain and crew of the S. S. Barracouda, as well as images of the smart set disporting themselves on deck, commercial medium-format photographs of different Caribbean locales, and more than 300 photographs of several generations of the Brown family, principally portraits, but including children and their toys, birthday celebrations and communions, plus plush architectural exterior and interior views of the Browns' estates and summer cottages. Albumen, printingout paper, platinum prints, and cyanotypes, various sizes: the Kodak images measure 21/2 inches in diameter, many of the portraits are carte-de-visite- and cabinet card-size, the platinum architectural prints are 7.5 x 9.25inches, and remaining prints are 4.75 x 6inches and smaller, each captioned below the photograph. Ephemeral items such as the passenger list and a group of picture postcards of New England are also included.
