F.; et. alia Group of 6 sixth-plate daguerreotypes of men, comprising a portrait of a farmer shown in his shirt and without a jacket; a fine 3/4 view portrait, by the Maine dagUerreotypiSt Benjamin Franklin Upton of a well dressed Native-American gentleman; an early portrait of a young man in patterned trousers, by John Plumbe: a vignetted image of a bearded gentleman; another of a young man in a plaid necktie and tinted vest; and, last, a frontal image of a seated gentleman leaning one arm on the edge of the blue cloth-covered table beside him; all but one with hand tinting; the Upton and Plumbe with the photographer's imprint in the mat; 3in full leather cases, one "The Token" case (Berg 5-12G), and one separated at the hinge, and 3in half leather cases. 1842- midddle 1850s E3000-4000 The mat of the Plumbe portrait bears the imprint, " Plumbe's Patent Oct. 22, 1842
