Quarter-plate daguerreotype of 2 men casually seated in the photographer's studio with the faint outline of the skylight window in the background, one affectionately leaning hisg arm on the other's shoulder who, in return has his hand on his friend's knee; with delicate hand tinting and gilt highlights on one of the gentlemen's rings; in a leather case with the photographer's "244 West Sixth Street" stamp on the satin lining. Early 1850s E700-1000 David A. Ross was active as a daguerreotypist in Cincinnati, Ohio from 1849 to 1855 From 1850 to 1852 he was listed as D.A. Ross & Co. at 244 West Sixth Street.
