The pictures predate the first World War and largely focus on women in over-the-top floppy hats and haute couture ankle length gowns ornamented with parasol and beaded handbags. Hirsute men, in mustaches and van-dykes, make a fine appearance as well in boaters, cravats, and tapered suits. Silver prints, 6.25 x 4.25inches, all but one with Meurisse's Faubourg handstamp, and several with mimeographed captions, in French, on verso. 1910-15 E2500-3500 The Belle Epoque is vividly evoked in these photographs of the beautiful people at Longchamps, on the boardwalk, and attending garden parties.
